Take the AGCW member survey
WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU!
AGC of Washington invites all members to participate in the 2021 Member Satisfaction & Strategic Positioning Survey, running through May 19. All respondents will be entered into a drawing for one of four $250 VISA gift cards. Click here to take the survey today.
This anonymous survey will help AGCW staff and leadership better understand members’ evolving needs and how you use current AGCW services.
The survey includes only 17 questions and should take just ten minutes or so to complete.
We thank you in advance for your input and support of this process!
Preview of record-breaking $6.3B capital budget
on June 25 -- register today!

The State Legislature just passed a record-breaking $6.3-billion capital budget and the Department of Enterprise Services (DES) will provide AGC members with a project preview on June 25 at 10:00 am via Zoom. DES will provide project lists, timelines and will discuss delivery methods.
The capital budget contains projects of all shapes and sizes and reaches into every corner of our state. Projects for the community and technical colleges, universities and other state agencies are included. Janet Jansen from DES will have a short presentation and then open it up for Q&A.

75th annual Ashbaugh Beal/AGC Southern District “Fast” Eddie Zawislak Memorial Golf and Field Day
Our golf tournament is back! We will once again be at Gold Mountain Golf Club in Bremerton on July 30. The Southern District Golf Committee is hard at work and if they have not already contacted you about a sponsorship and you would like to sponsor, please contact Tim Attebery.
Government-mandated CWA in Federal Way
AGC continues to argue against government-mandated Community Workforce Agreements (CWAs) in Federal Way. For those who don’t know, a CWA is a comprehensive pre-hire collective-bargaining agreement between a government agency and labor unions that establishes basic terms and conditions of employment for capital construction projects. AGC continues to support fair and open competition. Our conversation with elected officials in Federal Way has been extensive and we look forward to continuing it.
Charitable/workforce-development project at Washington High School progressing
Several AGC members in the South Sound are donating time and other valuable resources to construct a new skilled trades training center for students at Washington High School in the Franklin Pierce School District.
When AGC members in the Southern District want enhanced workforce development, they start by giving students the best possible facilities to train. This project was born from the Washington High School Core Plus Construction Advisory Committee, on which AGC members and staff serve. Core Plus is the AGC’s attempt to make strides in developing the future construction workforce. The AGC Education Foundation recently rolled out an excellent website to further explain how the program works. Hands-on learning is the way to positively introduce high-school students to our industry, and Core Plus Construction is the vehicle to make that happen. See the website here.
Educational opportunities continue online
The AGC Education Foundation continues to offer virtual continuing-education classes in a live, interactive, remote environment. We work closely with instructors to maintain high-quality training programs and are finding great success in the virtual environment.
